Day 1 at Kincardine Rita Rudell of the Peninsula Shores Phoenix set two meet records in the Senior Girls Division. Rudell first broke a long standing mark in the Senior Girls High Jump by clearing 1.75 metres. Then in the Senior Girls 100 metre hurdles, Rudell lowered her own Bluewater record by half a second, setting the new mark at 14.3 seconds Kevin Bowman of the Saugeen District Royals established a new meet record in the Junior Boys Discus. The new standard set by Bowman is 51.13 metres Today is the final day of the competition although weather may be a factor. Stay tuned for an update this morning. Schedule: This year’s schedule will be the same as last years schedule with one important addition. On Wednesday we will start the meet with 100m heats for all divisions with more than 3 heats. This will turn the Thursday Heats into semi-finals. |

The OFSAA Track & Field Championship go from the June 4th to June 6th in Toronto More than a dozen Bluewater athletes, including 9 from Saugeen District Secondary School in Port Elgin are competing Rita Rudell of Peninsula Shores @ Wiarton is entered in 3 events & Adam Stuck from West Hill in Owen Sound is also set to compete. |
